Operation
External hemorrhoid resection involves removing the entire external hemorrhoid, the clogged up blood vessels and the skin covering them. This procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia.
When only removing the blood clot, the external hemorrhoid is incised at the level of the swelling, as much clot as possible is pushed out of the blood vessel by gently squeezing the swollen vessel
The procedure can be performed under local or general anesthesia depending on the severity of the pathology.
